Sunday Share

Happy Sunday, dear friends!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and are ready for the week ahead! This week’s Sunday Share is all about being kind to yourself, inspiration, a behind the scenes look at a photoshoot and a Lenten Bible Study.

Reading

I just recently discovered Jones Design Company and I’m completely smitten. Emily’s site has a host of helpful posts, from crafty to cozy, all encouraging women to be creative in their everyday lives. I’m a huge fan of creativity and love the way she inspires others. This recent post is extremely vulnerable and it struck such a cord with me. Maybe it was because I had just had a text exchange with a girlfriend about how we give grace easily to others but are are stingy with giving it to ourselves. Maybe it was because it’s a lesson we all need to learn – being kind to others starts with being kind to ourselves. You won’t want to miss this post or the blog in general. It’s a beautiful space to find inspiration and encouragement.

Loving

One of my dearest friends and favorite graphic designers turned me on to Design Sponge years ago. I’m so thankful. Each day this week they featured a quotation hand-lettered by artist Chandan Mahimkar. I loved them all, but this Herman Melville quote seemed especially perfect for today’s Sunday Share. Be you, my dears. You are the only you we have.

Peeking

Do you ever look at pictures in magazines or blogs and wonder how it all came together? Designer Emily Henderson, who I first fell in love with on HGTV’s Design Star, takes you behind the scenes on a photo shoot for her new book. It’s a great glimpse into a designer’s mind and how there’s always more to the story than meets the eye.

Praying

I’ve started She Reads Truth’s Lent 2016 Bible study and I’m really enjoying it. I downloaded the app earlier this week and have loved each daily passage. They have a number of other studies available that I’ll be checking out after Easter. What Bible study are you currently enjoying?

So that’s it for me, what are you favorite things this week?

p.s. So maybe there are a few things that I love about Valentine’s Day… Chief among them is Baskin Robbins’ Love Potion #31. We snuck away for a sushi date Friday night, thanks to our church’s parents night out, and ended the evening with ice cream. It was a wonderful way to start the weekend.
